Uniforms will be needed for this event! Ladies - I'd like to see your dress before this event. Please bring it in for me to "okay." Guys new to choir this year - Please bring in $25 for your shirt as soon as possible. Thank you!!

Concert Band Playing Grades & Sectionals

Playing grades are recieved by each student accomplishing* the exercises and songs assigned for each month. Each student can check off each song in the Playing Grades Binder (kept in the band room) as they accomplish* it throughout the month. Each student has his/her own check-off sheet in the Playing Grades Binder to keep track of thier progress.

*Accomplishing a piece means the student can play the song 1) with correct notes, 2) with correct rhythms, & 3) at a steady tempo! Tap the beat with your foot while you play!

Sectionals begin this coming week! Students need to have their sectional time marked in their planner so they remember to come to the band room at that time! This time is important for each individual band member. Please be on time and ready to play!! Thank you!!

8th Grade Music Appreciation Students!

We're off to a good start! Our class only meets on MWF during 6th period for the 1st 9 weeks. My goal for you in this class to learn to APPRECIATE the ART of MUSIC (even more than some of you do already!)

You have each created a binder with 5 sections: Music Theory, Music History, Sight-Reading, Instrument Study, & Music Genres. We will add information to these sections each time we meet.

You will have quizzes on a regular basis and an exam at the end of the 9 weeks. Take your binder home to study for these tests, as needed.

Because so many of you are in band or choir, I believe this class will be a lot of fun! And maybe...just maybe...we can even have a field trip to a performance this 9 weeks. PLAY ON!!!
